Season Wrapup – 2008

Season Wrapup – 2008

As we enter the Holiday period, I’d like to thank all who shared the magic of trophy striped bass fishing this season.

The season started slowly, with the glut of tinker mackeral giving the bass ample food – and too often reasons to snub or tease us. Land fish we did, but not in the numbers of prior years.

And then came August…

While we fought weeds on many trips, the departure of the mackeral brought our trophies onto the beach – and they were hungry!

We had a great September and early October, scoring ten consecutive trips with at least one fish exceeding 40″ – our trophy benchmark. I needed help one night, landing six 40+ inch fish solo while scouting!

While the absence of peanut bunker in October resulted in a rapid wrapup, it was a good year – thanks to YOU.

I hope the winter treats all well, and that we have the opportunity to fish again next year.

God Bless, be safe, be well.

Capt. Bob
